The Fags--Light 'Em Up

The Fags score huge with Light 'Em Up, a full-length party which for many will almost define the term Power Pop.  Light 'Em Up is packed with big power chords, chunky stops and starts and hammer-down rock.  One of the coolest things about The Fags is the uncontrolled good time that their music forces on the listener.  It is almost impossible not to break out the air guitar when The Fags crank it up.  If you're a fan of Cheap Trick, Sugarcult, American Hi-Fi or Foo Fighters, we just fail to see how you won't love this band.

Featured Tracks: "Rockstar", "Siren Song", "Tonight"

40 Ft. Ringo--"Funny Thing" (Atenzia)

"All these songs have the potential to get stuck in your head and if you're into that kind of thing, then give this a spin. "--Metal-Sludge.com   Well, we are and these tunes will definitely get stuck.

Fountains of Wayne--Traffic And Weather

If I only had enough cash to buy one Fountains of Wayne CD, it would be this one. Everything this band does is gold but after to listening to all of FOW’s albums habitually since they began doing their thing, "Traffic and Weather" is the most consistently catchy and exciting of them all. This one is packed with great songs, “Someone To Love”, “Yolanda Hayes”, “This Better Be Good”, “Strapped For Cash”, “Revolving Dora”, “I-95”…geez, its just loaded! Smart and sing-along Power Pop gets no better than this.

Featured Tracks: "Someone To Love", "This Better Be Good", "I-95"

Full Out Freak--Full Out Freak (self-released)

This recently formed New Jersey pop/rock quartet has released an impressive debut, filled with shimmering mid-tempo modern rock.  Full Out Freak is definitely a tight outfit with a unique tone to their songs which are absolutely radio-friendly.  Their sound is much like Goo Goo Dolls, The Exies and Supermint.  There are also Butch Walker and Cheap Trick influences sprinkled throughout.

The High Speed Scene--The High Speed Scene (Star Trak/Interscope)

Awesome Power Pop is all we need to say about The High Speed Scene.  This much fun crammed onto a shiny silver disc may be illegal.  The tunes on this release will definitely satisfy your need for melody and hooks.  This reminds us of Deathray's debut release and nods to Weezer, The Cars and even Devo are all part of the party to be experienced on this great new release.

Featured Tracks: "The IROC-Z Song", "Assingear", "Allaboutit"

Hindurodeo--Nalladaloobr (Awkward Pop)

"Three bands come readily to mind when listening to Hindu Rodeo: Dada, Utopia and The Bears...Without little doubt or ambivalence, we put this right at the top of any pile circulating here and present Hindu Rodeo as Extremely Highly Recommended. Truly stunning."--NotLame.com
